What Is Travel Professionals Of Color?
Charlotte Haymore and Betty Jones saw a need in the industry that was not being addressed and decided to move forward and found Travel Professionals of Color (TPOC) in 2002. They proceeded to find a way to reach minority travel professionals and provide them the necessary tools to help make them more profitable and bring about an awareness of minority travel professionals within the travel community.
In addition, TPOC has developed a Heritage and History Tourism Program for all TPOC members interested in focusing on Heritage Travel. The Annual TPOC Conference brings together top travel executives, travel agent owners, managers, sales staff, industry suppliers, hospitality professionals and students in travel to an educational and networking environment specifically for the advancement of minority travel professionals.
Membership in the TPOC Association is open to everyone who has an interest in reaching the minority tourism market. Also, for anyone looking for great advice on developing cultural tours for their clients – were to go, shop, eat and play, etc.
The association has agents throughout the US, Canada, the Caribbean, Africa and Europe, which makes networking within the association an outstanding opportunity.
